Chi-Square   Video Tutorial

Lab HW

Open the SPSS Tutorial Datafile (above) and conduct the following analyses...
  • Run an independent-samples t-test assessing differences in the perceived speed of the cars in the car accident footage    (dependent variable:    Speed) between the "Contacted" and "Smashed" conditions (independent variable: Condition).
    • Create a bar graph depicting this result.  Make sure to include error bars.
  • Conduct a chi-square analysis assessing differences in whether the correct driver was perceived as "at fault" in the car accident footage (dependent variable: AtFault)   between the "Contacted" and "Smashed" conditions (independent variable: Condition).
    • Create a bar graph depicting this   result.  Make sure to include error bars.

In a Microsoft Word document…
  • Write one-sentence statements describing your results from the above analyses (two sentences total).
  • Display the bar graphs from the above analyses.  Make sure to place each bar graph on its own page with the correct titling (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2).

E-mail this Microsoft Word document to rossdavilla@gmail.com   no later than Friday.  You do not need to turn in the SPSS data file or output file.
